First off I want to start by saying thank you for visiting my site, so welcome to my introduction. Blogging will be a new adventure for me, and I hope you want to tag along.
A quick introduction about me:
My name is Tessa, and I’m a new mom of a beautiful baby boy. I own my own embroidery business, and we’re quickly expanding into manufacturing custom products such as dog beds, children’s accessories, and blankets. You can check out our Etsy store at (shameless plug), but that’s not really the focus of this blog.
The purpose of this blog is:
- Chronicling and sharing my crafting journey
- Posting tutorials
- Learning new crafts from y’all
Where I came from and Where I am
My crafting journey began at a young age, and I’ve been going nonstop ever since. I’ve had many wonderful teachers over the years. Aunt Jane taught me how to knit, and me and my twin quickly surpassed her. My grandmother taught me to sew, my first project was a denim vest and knee length skirt (yikes!). And my Home Ec teacher really took me under her wing and expanded my knowledge of sewing. My best teacher has been the internet and library of craft books I’ve collected. If only I had access to Pinterest back in the day!
Nowadays my range of crafts is mostly focused on quilting, sewing, anything to do with fabric, and some knitting. In the past I’ve loved challenging myself with learning obscure crafts. I’ve made shoes out of leather, woven scarves on looms, spun yarn on spindles, and hand carved stamps for custom fabrics. Learning new crafts is a passion for me, the crazier the better!
Uh Oh, UFOs
The one down fall I have with crafting is something that many crafters struggle with: UFOs! I’m not talking about alien spacecrafts, but rather Un-Finished-Objects. I’m horrible at finishing my projects, and in fact have only finished ONE quilt in my years of quilting! I can’t even count how many I’ve begun (or just bought fabric for). Hopefully this blog will help me to tidy up some of those pesky UFOs, and motivate me to complete future projects.
Whew! That was a lot of information about me to throw at ya! Hopefully you stuck around, and will come back for future updates.
